Nothing says thank you like handmade

My grandmother Mary was a knitter. A keen knitter of limited means who used the craft to share her love. And love she did. The afghan she made for me as a teen is with me today. Mary explaining that the colour palette she chose were those of an artist. Thank you Mary. I love you Mary. I wish you were here so I could say thank you again not only for the gift but for your vision of me. This page is for Mary and all the Marys out there. People who deserve a thank you. A handmade thank you. I read recently, “when you have something I knit you have a piece of my heart.” I believe that to be true. Please make something and pass it on. Friends, loved ones, someone in need, or a person you admire for all the goodness they have spread. Let’s spread the love one stitch at a time. I have a long list of thank yous ~ my needles will be hopping. Kindly follow / post to Instagram using #this_ones_for_mary. I hope to see you there!

Woolens for Ukrainian refugees in Poland

These puppies are on their way to Northern Ireland where from there they will be sent to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

Amazing how friends do not let distance, or a big body of water, get in the way of a plan to help. We are stronger working together.

Warm woolens for Afghan refugees in Rhode Island

Thanks to a very generous donation from PurlSoho, a family of Afghan refugees in Rhode Island are a bit warmer this year.
